Easter Mathematics AS-Level Revision Conference
Event Date April 4, 2012 9:40 a.m. – April 5, 2012
Location – Glynneath Building (G block), University of Glamorgan, Treforest
These free one day events are designed specifically to help AS-level Mathematics students prepare well for their C2 & M1/S1 examinations. We are holding two AS-level revision conferences this year, on Wednesday 4th and Thursday 5th April 2012.
Provisional Programme
9:40 – 12:30 In the morning session, our own university lecturers will work systematically through the AS-Level examination papers. All attendees will be given conference books containing WJEC winter 2011 AS-level exam papers with annotated solutions.
1:30 – 3:00 In the afternoon session, some of the promising career opportunities currently available to mathematics graduates will be showcased. Speakers on these subjects will include our own Universities’ Careers Officer along with visiting speakers who will focus on career opportunities for mathematics AS-level students specifically here in South Wales.
No doubt the centerpiece of the day, though, will be the concluding keynote address, given by a Mathematics A-Level expert (TBA), who will discuss how to prepare properly for an AS-level paper and correct examination technique. Please note that enrolment specifically in a WJEC examination is not a prerequisite for attendance. All students can benefit from this revision day conference.
In the past, this free event has proved extremely popular and so applications will be dealt with on a first-come first-served basis (capacity 600).
