Easter Mathematics GCSE (Higher Tier papers 1 & 2) Revision Conference
Event Date April 2, 2012 9:40 a.m. – April 3, 2012
Location – Glynneath Building (G block), University of Glamorgan, Treforest
These free one day events are designed specifically to help GCSE Mathematics (Higher Tier) students prepare correctly for their forthcoming examinations. We are holding two GCSE revision conferences this year, on Monday 2nd and Tuesday 3rd April 2012.
Provisional Programme
9:40 – 12:30 In the morning session, our own university lecturers will systematically work through past GCSE examination (Higher Tier) papers (1 & 2). All attendees will be given conference books containing a GCSE summer 2011 exam paper (WJEC) with annotated solutions. Our excellent dining facilities are also available to all attendees.
1:30 – 3:00 In the afternoon session some of the promising career opportunities currently available to successful mathematics students will be showcased. Speakers on these subjects will include the Universities’ Careers Officer along with visiting speakers primarily.
No doubt the centerpiece of the day, though, will be the concluding keynote address, given by an expert speaker (TBA) who will talk on good exam preparation. Please note that although we will be focusing on WJEC, enrolment in any particular examination board is not a prerequisite for attendance. All students can benefit from this revision day conference.
In the past, this free event has proved extremely popular and so applications will be dealt with on a first-come first-served basis (capacity 600).
